Swedish guitarist Jimmy Wahlsteen plays the guitar using his own fingerpicking technique and personal sound over innovative open tunings.
Jimmy has released three recordings to date. His debut album, 181st Songs, has gained millions of hits on YouTube and Spotify. One of its songs entitled “Shifts Of Attention” was even featured on the TV show The LA Complex, airing on the CW Network (US) and MTV (non US).
2011 brought the release of All Time High, in addition to international tours with acclaimed guitarists Don Ross and Tommy Emmanuel.
His latest release, No Strings Attached, leans more towards an alternative pop sound. The album is layered with a variety of atmospheric soundscapes, all created by the acoustic guitar. Regarding the making of the album Jimmy says, “My biggest goal with writing was to find the balance the tender emotion of the songs with optimism and melancholy. I want be moved by a song but still keep the sensation of longing and hope.”
Jimmy will head out on the road again in 2015 to support the release of No Strings Attached across Europe and North America.
